Frequently asked questions:
How the site works:
Thanks-o-meter.com allows users to submit a 'Thank You' for the nice things people do for them, share the emotions they felt and write a story about the event (if they choose). Each submitted story is then visible to all users and can be shared by forwarding it to others. To learn more about the site, see the "About Tab" or search for the story about "Father Andy", which was the motivation for this site.
Sorry, all submissions are anonymous. Our site is not for highlighting any individual, but for sharing the multitude of interactions that people are thankful for.
I'd like to share a posted story:
You can share any story by clicking the "Share it" link, then entering a personal message to the recipient(s). The more stories you share, the more people know about all the nice things people do for one another!
How can I remove a story?:
Any user can remove any story by clicking on the "Flag it" link. This will immediately remove the story from view. We have a policy for appropriate content of the stories - see the link at the bottom of the page called "The Rules".
Viewing the Statistics:
Our charts and graphs require Adobe Flash Player. If you cannot view them, contact your friendly computer guru to try and resolve the issue. The Adobe Flash Player is a free download, so while cost is not the issue, some network settings may restrict this application from downloading.
Public Schools:
We offer a free Thanks-o-meter.com account to any public school that submits a letter of interest.
Sponsors:
The public site accepts sponsors. Their contributions help cover our expenses and help fund future functionality. We have some rather stringent requirements to be a sponsor. No manufacturers or distributors of alcohol, tobacco, or adult related products. Contact us to see if you qualify.
