I was feeling a bit 'off' one day last week, but continued to run my errands and plow through the day anyway. As I stepped out of my car after parking in a local shopping center, struggling to get out because of a soft-cast on my foot while a toe was healing, an elderly gentleman stopped walking on the sidewalk in front of me and exclaimed, "Do you mind if I tell you that you are absolutely beautiful!" I almost looked behind me to see if he, indeed, meant the comment to be directed at me!! He said that he decided years ago that when he wanted to give someone a compliment, he'd just do it - instead of thinking about it.. We chatted for a moment and we each went on our way, but that comment made my day - and more. I smiled just thinking about it before falling asleep that night and woke up the next morning thinking again how good it made me feel. I made a promise to myself to do the same - continuing to 'pass it forward' to others. With so many negatives in many people's lives, what an easy thing for each of us to do to make a difference in someone's life, if just for the day... So, thank-you to the kindly old man for his compliment...
