Yesterday, while driving back home from running some errands, there was a long line of cars ahead of me slowing driving through a construction site, requiring all lanes closed but two - PLUS the traffic lights had gone out due to a power outage. I was running low on fuel and needed to get over into a lane allowing me access to a service station but no one was willing to stop and allow me to do so. I sat there watching car after car drive right on by - not even giving me eye contact when FINALLY a young man stopped, smiled and waved me into the lane I needed to get into. My only thought was "thanks" for small favors. Sometimes, that's all it takes to make one's day.
