I had a form from my prescription benefit provider that I needed help filling out. There were questions I couldn't answer -- like the NDC numbers, ingredients and quantities for a special compounded medication my son has started taking, the pharmacy's NCPDP/NPI number, etc. With a stack of paperwork in hand, I walked in to the busy pharmacy. When it was my turn to speak to the pharmacist at the counter, I explained what I needed and he called one of his assistants over and then said to me, "I'll put you in Carolina's hands." I showed Carolina the form and told her what I was looking for, and she took the paperwork back to the desk and started working on it. When she came back about 10 minutes later, she had not only completed the form (including whiting out and re-writing some of the information I had entered incorrectly), but made a copy for me and one for herself, which she said she would keep on file in case I ever had to submit the same form again. I was so thankful! I guess that's what should happen when you go looking for help, but it usually doesn't. Finding someone like that who is cheerful, competent, and interested in helping me was a breath of fresh air. She wished me a good afternoon, and I almost skipped out the door! I came home, put the form in the envelope and sent it off. I was relieved that the task turned out to be a pleasure, instead of a chore.
