My son needed a new pair of shoes, and money has been very tight lately (as for everyone, I'm sure!) In cleaning out a basket of 'to be filed' stuff in the kitchen, I found an unused gift card for a local department store! I immediately recalled having received it for Christmas, but I thought I had already spent it. The store had the shoes he needed on sale this week, so we got them "free." It doesn't fix everything, but sometimes the small, nice surprises go a long way to making a week better!
