When I was going to college, I left to drive from Phoenix back to Los Angeles to see my parents. About 3 hours into the trip, my water pump failed. The fan blade sliced into the radiator and my Jeep overheated in the middle of no where. It was 110 degrees. I hitched a ride to the next gas station and called my Dad.
He dropped what he was doing at home, hopped in his truck and drove 4 1/2 hours to get me. We then drove back to Phoenix and bought a new radiator, fan blade, water pump and belt. We stayed the night in Phoenix and then drove back to my Jeep and repaired it. He really thought nothing of it. Just doing what needed to be done. I appreciated it so much back then and I still think of it as an example of his love, caring, and selflessness. I hope that I can be as positive a role model for my kids someday.
