Our beloved nanny became very sick, quickly and unexpectedly. We are sad and concerned for our babysitter, but also realized the bind we've put ourselves in by not having a back-up plan. Two friends stepped up to cover childcare gaps so my husband and I could continue most of our obligations without major fallout at work. We are still in a crunch, but grateful to those who pitched in a few hours here and there, and moreso, to our regular sitter for all she does under normal circumstances. May she rest well and feel better soon, for her own sake and, yes, ours.
